I've been eating here for decades; my parents first brought me here when I was a wee lad and we were up here from Arizona, visiting family. Maybe my childhood memories bring more to this review than they should, but I absolutely love Litza's Pizza. It's my go-to pizza joint when out of town friends come to town, even from as far away as France. First off, yes. The garlic bread with a side of ranch to dip in is as close to heaven as you can possibly imagine. It's my #1 comfort food, and I always make sure I have at least two slices when I'm in the restaurant. My wife and I usually get the dinner special for 2, and upgrade to a medium garlic cheese pizza, with italian sausage on half. If you love the garlic bread, you'll die over the garlic cheese pizza. Be warned, though, it's a heart attack waiting to happen and because of the butter and cheese, you'll go through several napkins sopping up the grease from the top of the pizza. Lime rickeys or apple beer are the perfect compliment to the pizza. A cold mug of Hires root beer does not go amiss either. You're not here to lose weight or have an ok diet meal, this is a pizza joint. You come to get sauce on your face and a belly full of deliciousness and that's what they deliver, in spades. God Bless Litza's Pizza.

Mediocre pizza at exceptional pizza prices. One of the pizzas we got was smothered in bacon bits and thus "ok" due to the massive fat and salt infusion, but the other was just blah. Crust, sauce, cheese... hitting the basics and not much else. The tomato slices were artfully arranged. The wings are truly awful; the cheapest frozen commercial product available. Fatty, globular, flavorful in the way of Kraft salad dressing and again, too dang expensive for what you get and they forgot to pack the stupid blue cheese to boot! The best reason to order pizza here is that they're safe for those with tree nut allergies. This was awesome when we needed it, but it was an awesomeness born of desperation.

I frequently go to Litza's for lunch. While I don't think their pizza is all that good, I love the chef salad that comes with a slice of garlic toast! Ask for cheese on it. Considering the portion size...I think it's really reasonably priced.

This is my favorite pizza place. I love everything about it! The pizza is great, salads are awesome, my kids love the garlic bread. The service is so friendly. I like simple pizza so this truly is my favorite in the valley. The old decor was bad but it was still fun. New decor is nice.

Walked in here the first time out in SLC this past summer and remembered the pizza to be a little oily but decent. Went back with my wife and we shared a pepperoni and Italian sausage and it was a notch better than I expected. Good crust and the sausage was crumbled over the pie instead of sliced which gave it a consistent flavor. Pretty good. Will go back again. Tip: if you have a medium to large vehicle, pick a parking space around the outer spaces. I parked in the middle with a Subaru Forester and spent a while backing out of the space.

Whatever happened to all the good family pizza places where you could go in, sit down and actually be served pizza? It seems as if now they are all pick up your pizza and get the eff outta here kinda joints. Not Litzas. You can feed a family of five for about $30 with their family meal which includes a pitcher of soda, large pizza, salad and garlic bread ( pretty much Texas toast.) is it the best pizza I've ever had? No, but like I said a good sit down pizza place with some pretty decent pizza and for a great deal. Even if you're not Mormon but just have a lot of kids, like me ;) The place could definitely use a makeover however. It's decorated the way that an old white person would imagine all Italian restaurants look like. Stucco and roman columns and poorly painted "I-talian" murals on the walls. It looks like something that you would see on kitchen nightmares, but they are always busy, so they must be doing alright. But again, this isn't a place we go for the ambience. The pizza and the price is right and it's one of the few places we don't have to tell the kids to be quiet every 5 seconds. But kind of a bummer that it is closed on Sundays. Apparently it is Utah state law that you can't eat good food on Sundays.

I've grown up with this place. The garlic bread is the best i have ever had! Order it! The pizza is always great! Lots of topping options, even anchovies last I checked (please don't do that to yourself)! Go here if you want a fresh local pizza! Parking can be tricky at times, small lot. The service is lacking some nights. I shouldn't have to fight for attention to get a drink refill, which i'm sad to say has happened on occasion. The price might be a little high, especially for the salad. I go back time and again because the pizza really is quality!

Pizza not good. Better pizza from a frozen food section at a grocery store. Toppings were ok sauce didn't taste very good either.

We usually go as a group of 5 or 6. We loaf up on Garlic bread and a couple of large pies. It more than enough and we haven't had a bad experience yet.

Decent pizza. Good gluten free option. Weird, bordering on gross, decor that leaves you scared about what they're skimping on in the kitchen. A mash of beige formica and brown walls and a cramped seating arrangement that feels more "cafeteria" than "hole in the wall." With so many pizza joints you can do better.

Good authentic non chained pizza with fresh flavor, many combinations including mushrooms and Canadian. Right priced for group dates and durring finals. Root beer hits the spot

This has been on my radar for a while, but neither location is especially convenient for lunch. Today, I had a little time and since I reviewed the Hire's on 4700 S., I figured I would do the Litza's downtown to even things out a little. The decor, as mentioned, is a bit odd. The single seated next to the barrier wall are a bit cramped and there is not so much as a single Utah content-free paper to be found in the place, not even one of the no-charge ones. Service was quite good. All that aside, the speed of the pizza, while not great, was acceptable. Likewise the iced tea I had with it and frankly, the pizza itself as well, all acceptable. If there is one word that sums up this place perfectly, it is just that: acceptable. This is the kind of place that the 3 star review was invented for, really. You wind up with a decent-tasting, but not too exciting sauce and a part crispy, part chewy crust (not sure if this was intentional). The cheese was fine, but the toppings ranged from bizarre (Danish ham apparently means ham squares) to inaccurate (spicy sausage that was far from spicy and kind of nasty, peppered bacon without pepper). I'm not sure what the attraction to repeated visits here would be, unless one lived close. There are too many others doing this too much better and certainly speed is not their forte. This place may need to get in line for an overhaul...

I am really torn about what sort of review to leave. If you are dining in...I would give this place 4 stars. Their pizza and garlic bread are totally delicious! However, this time I decided to do the "Take & Bake", and also ordered a side of garlic bread. The pizza had to be prepared at home (obviously), but Litza's cooked the garlic bread. I thought the pizza was mediocre and not like the pizza served in their restaurant. And because the garlic bread was made ahead of time - by the time we were finished cooking the pizza, the garlic bread was soggy and chewy. I don't think I will do the "Take & Bake" thingee again. But I would definitely eat in their restaurant again.

This is a great restaurant to go to with the family for pizza. You can feed a family of 4 to 6 people for around $30 with garlic bread, salad and a pitcher of soda. The roquefort dressing is great and the hires root beer is definitely worth getting. They make a thin crust pizza so if your not into that stay away, other wise if you love a good cheesy pizza with great toppings and a reasonable price this is the place.

This place is easily my favorite pizza place in Salt Lake City. Every time that I visit, I have to stop here at least once. I have yet to change my order, and I've been here five or six times now. For an appetizer, the delicious garlic bread. AND for the main course, a large sausage pizza. Simply Excellent! It's usually a bit crowded, but it's absolutely worth the wait.

I am Gluten free so naturally I went to try the GF pizza, it was not very good, I got sick shortly after I ate it. My girlfriend also got a little sick from the regular pizza. We went back again to make sure it wasn't something else and sure enough, sick again. It was pretty expensive for such a small pizza. There are plenty of other options out there and this is not one of them. Cardboard is gluten free and I bet it would make a better pizza than Litzas.

OK so Litza's is a staple of my in-laws so if I say anything bad, they will have me dragged into the street and beaten. But seriously folks, I have been here probably at least a dozen times in the last 9 years and it's always been "Pretty Good" (I am wavering between 3 and 4 stars). You'd never brag about it to your cousin in Chi or NY, but I've always left satisfied. The dough is a thinner crust, but not really NY style. The toppings are fresh tasting and well proportioned. The pepperoni tends to make for a greasy pizza though, I'd go with the spicy ground beef instead. I've never had a problem with cold garlic bread, but it can be a little soggy sometimes. Service is always friendly, but maybe because they recognize my in-laws. I don't think the pizza travels really well, you're better off eating there rather than take out IMO. One tip, they currently have a "happy hour" where you can get a 2 topping, medium pizza for about $8.50. This deal is good from 3-6pm (prolly weekdays only, but I'm not sure)

If I was rating on pizza alone, Litza's would receive 5 stars, no questions asked. My dad is a big fan of Litza's. He has been frequenting it since he was a teenager. (Evidently, pizza was around in the Stone Age...) For my dad, this place holds lots of nostalgic memories. For me, its just a pizza joint with slightly dated decor and really good 'za. Litza's makes a fantastic pizza. I'll give them that. The crust is toasty, crispy yet not tough. And they definitely don't skimp on the toppings, either- the pizza we ordered tonight was loaded to nearly overflowing with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The ingredients all seemed really fresh and flavorful. Some of the best pizza out there. And not overly greasy, like one would expect from other local joints, such as the Pie. But, despite the awesome pizza, Litza's definitely lacks in the side dish department. "How's the garlic bread?" you ask. "Cold, and soggy" I reply. "How's the side salad?" you ask. "Made completely out of wilted iceberg lettuce, with the exception of exactly 3 croutons, one slice of tomato and one slice of pickeld beet." I respond. But, then again, who goes to a pizza joint for the side dishes anyway? Thats why they cleverly named this place 'Litza's Pizza", not "Litza's Sidedishes". Go to Litza's, but only for the pizza.

Gluten free pizza!! And dang good gluten free pizza. (It was even better the morning after when it was cold.... do try this .... I think it might be the best way to eat it). Even so, I had a very nice chef's salad and the waitress knew which dressings were gluten free. In addition, the waitress just overall was very good and attentive and friendly. Diner like and that's what makes it really a great option and the prices help as well.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
